Not All Who Wander Are Lost!

Victoria is hands down the best home away from home for Winter Texans, working folk, students, or anyone else for that matter! Victoria is conveniently located just a short two hour’s drive from four of the biggest cities in Texas. With Victoria as your base camp, day trips to Austin, Houston, San Antonio or Corpus Christi are a great way to experience the many flavors of Texas culture. Not to mention, you’ll also be able to experience all the culture and excitement Victoria itself has to offer. Whether you’re hoping to get in some great fishing and boating in one of our area reservoirs, or you just want to hit the green out on one the beautiful area golf courses, you’re sure to find an activity that interests you. Victoria has several area museums, a local art league, a fine art’s center, a symphony, and this year we welcomed the Texas Mile! Our surrounding counties also have many fun, and often historically rich attractions, such as Goliad’s Presidio La Bahia, the Spoetzl brewery in Shiner, or the Painted Churches tour in Schulenburg, to name a few. Victoria is also only 30 miles from the gulf of Mexico, and only about 50 miles from Port O Conner, an exciting fishing destination for salt water fishing. The possibilities are many so if you need some inspiration, keep an eye on this Local Events Blog where we will be reviewing local attractions, events and venues as well as bringing attention to upcoming events we think might be of interest to guests that have wandered Southbound. We hope you enjoy your time in the Crossroads as much as we enjoy showing you around! Thanks for visiting!
